Grangemout Refinery Walkout
April 27, 2008
Grangemouth Refinery has officially started its 48 hour walkout this morning with 1200 workers now officially on strike over final pension pay issues. The strike is set to cost £50 million a DAY, which is considerably more than it would cost to settle the whole dispute.
Whilst we agree in principle for the Unions to fight for the rights of the workers, we are asking how, if talks and consultation began last September, sucha strategic and important lifeline to the country has been allowed to shut down?
More so we are interested on how this can further impact on the out of control pricing we are seeing at the petrol pumps each day.
Give us your views on this issue and how a potential fuel strike can affect your daily life.
